2016-2017

At the Samford Greek Awards, Phi Mu was awarded:

Outstanding Interfraternal Relations

Above Average GPA 

We are so proud of Aly York for winning Miss Samford 2017! She will go on to compete in Miss Alabama this year.

2015-2016

Hannah Jones and Rachel Johnson were two of twenty freshmen to be selected for the London Core Text Course! They spent two weeks in London, England seeing sites and learning about British History.

In the fall, our very own Allyson Nuwayhid was crowned Miss Samford! Aly York was awarded second runner up. Allyson went on to win the llfestyle and fitness section of Miss Alabama! We are so proud! 

At the Greek Awards in the spring we were awarded chapter of the year! We were also awarded:

Chapter Adviser of the Year (Sara Watson)

Faculty/Staff Advisor of the Year (Candia Cole)

Excellence in Scholarship 

At National Convention we were rewarded with the prestigious Philomathean Award! We are so proud! We were also rewarded:

Certificate for meeting quota during recruitment

Certificate for 100% M3 participation

2014-2015

Over the summer, Victoria Batson and Elizabeth Henard represented Phi Mu Alpha Gamma at National Convention. Our chapter was received the Philomathean Society award. We also received awards in philanthropic financial support, participation in the M3 Foundation, Formal Recruitment, GPA and finances. Junior Taylor Beek was also recognized for her philanthropic efforts. 

 

In the Fall, Intramural Flag Football won the Championships. 

The ladies of Phi Mu got 2nd in the Homecoming Board Decorating Contest in November. 

Phi Mu's directors were recognized as "Directors of the Year" at Step Sing for their show "A Land Before Time."

 

2013-2014 

 At the Greek Awards this Spring we were given much recognition in several categories.

2011-2012

At the 2012 National Convention, President Lauren Bates and New Member Director Sarah Norville collected The Philomathean Society Award on behalf of the Alpha Gamma chapter. This award recognizes a CTE score over 90 and the chapter has received this 2 years in a row! Keep it up!

Alpha Gamma's very own Anna Laura Bryan was crowned the most recent Miss Alabama and her Phi Mu sisters couldn't be prouder! She will represent Alabama in the Miss America pageant to be held in January 2013 in Las Vegas. What a stunner!

Recent Phi Mu graduate Kara Peal ended her college career with a bang! At commencement she was awarded the President's Cup--an honor for the highest GPA out of the ENTIRE graduating class. 

Phi Mu took home quite a collection from the 2012 Greek Week Awards, including Alumnae Chapter Advisor of the Year for our advisor Ashley Stephens. 

At the 2011 War of the Roses, Phi Mu Alpha Gamma defended their title with total domination. Champions two years in a row!

At the 2011 Homecoming, Phi Mu received 1st place in the float competition thanks to the great leadership qualities of Homecoming Chair, Lew Williams.

Phi Mu, Sarah Kathryn Sharp, was crowned the 2011 Miss Samford. She went on to compete for Miss Alabama with fellow Phi Mu sister, Anna Laura Bryan. Beyond proud of these beauties!

 

Because of Alpha Gamma's generous donations to the Children's Hospital in Birmingham, Ala., our chapter receieved an honorary column in the new wing of the hospital. We love CMNH! 

When Samford's chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brought back their War of the Roses competition in the fall of 2010, Phi Mu responded by claiming the Championship title.

In Fall 2010, Phi Mu dodged defeat and won the Intramural Dodgeball tournament.

2009-2010

Phi Mu girls showed they could bend it like Beckham when they swept the soccer field for another Intramural Championship.

Phi Mu placed 2nd Runner-Up in Step Sing 2010 for its show "Risky Business." We were the top placing girls group on campus! Big deal!

 

2008-2009

Phi Mu won Participant's Choice for Best Choreography in Step Sing 2009!

In 2009, at the Samford University Greek Honors the Alpha Gamma Chapter earned three awards! The ladies of Phi Mu were recognized for holding a GPA above the campus average. The Panhellenic Council also recognized our advisor at that time, Jennifer, as Outstanding Advisor of the Year!

Phi Mu, Emily, was named Samford's Homecoming Queen in Fall of 2008!

Phi Mu, Anna Laura, was crowned Miss Samford for 2008 and went on to compete for Miss Alabama last spring!

Phi Mu was named the highest sorority GPA in 2008! Way to go girls!

The sisters of the Alpha Gamma Chapter are also pleased to announce that a Phi Mu, Maegan Wilson, won Greek Woman of the Year in 2008! She was recognized for her many achievements within Phi Mu and on Samford's campus. Way to go Maegan!
